MAFA MEMBERSHIP
OVERVIEW
MEMBERSHIP
The Committee meets routinely at the Other Cup on the second Monday of the month at 3:00pm .
It meets at various other times, e.g. decorating for holidays, special projects, etc.
The Committee typically recesses in June, July and August.
THOSE SEEKING MEBESHIP MUST BE
Approved by the Rector
A Parishioner for at least three years.
Willing to contribute 10-12 hours per month.
Available for holiday décor set-up, unscheduled meetings, and special occasions.
Considerations/Useful Skills:
Commitment to your faith in Christ and to St. Barnabas as your church family
Commitment to a ministry of visual worship, praise, and thanksgiving
Commitment to and interest in the visual aesthetic traditions and history unique to St. Barnabas
Interest in liturgical arts, implements of worship, and furnishings
Commitment to a pastoral ministry as it relates to families of the deceased, donors, parishioners, artists, etc.
Commitment to positive interaction with donors, artists, the Rector, the Vestry, other Parish committees, and the Parish at large
Commitment to education and as it relates to this ministry
Commitment to conservation and stewardship
Ability to visually conceptualize, think creatively, provide leadership, negotiate and be flexible, seek out solutions, research and/or execute projects, be sensitive to pastoral needs, and/or function as part of a team.
Ability to be a teacher, tour guide, ambassador, decorator, writer, record keeper, minute taker, host/hostess and/or other
Qualities of patience, long term judgment, wisdom, and diplomacy
